Redman – Tha Shiznit (Freestyle)

Redman Tha Shiznit (Freestyle)

Redman certainly lives up to the title of “instrumental killa,” a moniker he proudly claims in his “SHIZNIT” freestyle. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s aiming to put his own spin on Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s classic “Tha Shiznit.” He almost nails it with his unique delivery and dynamic presence on the mic. It’s worth noting he might be trying to “jaque” the track at a time when Snoop and Dre are gearing up to release their first collaboration album since Doggystyle, titled Missionary, set to drop on December 13. But this discussion centers around Redman, so let’s focus on him.

The “SHIZNIT” freestyle is part of a long-running YouTube series called “[J@q Boi Be@tz Freestyle],” where he showcases his talent over various beats, ranging from Drake to G-Eazy, and even takes on ringtones. These spontaneous freestyles underscore Redman’s creativity and innovative spirit. While he may not be releasing new albums or singles as frequently these days, these freestyles certainly make an impact. The last full-length album we received from the Funk Doctor was 2015’s Mudface. Fans are buzzing about this latest freestyle across social media platforms, particularly on Instagram. Comedian and actor Anthony Anderson encouraged him with, “Spit that s*** Redman!” while Big Boy chimed in with, “A-1 since Day 1.” Layzie Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony left a comment expressing his admiration with “πŸ’―πŸπŸ’―πŸπŸ’―.” In “SHIZNIT,” Redman demonstrates that he still has itβ€”never sold his soul and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. You might say that while others are just “microwave,” heating up quickly and then cooling off, he represents that “grandma-cooked food.” Check out the impressive bars from one of the GOATs at the link below.
