Logic – Not A Game ft. Lucy Rose

Logic Not A Game ft. Lucy Rose

Logic’s latest EP Aquarius III features a continuation of the soulful, roots-inspired, and laid-back rap style that his dedicated fanbase appreciates, while also incorporating some even funkier elements than his previous work. It’s undeniable that “Not A Game” with Lucy Rose stands out, thanks to a sharp drum beat, subtle bass, gentle yet resonant synthesizer chords, and an extremely adaptable flow from the Ultra 85 MC. Rose’s vocals bring a much-needed sense of atmosphere and dreaminess to the track, which complements the other instrumentation nicely, particularly when compared to Bobby Tarantino’s more energetic delivery.

It’s reassuring to hear that Logic has chosen to focus more intensely on the skills and qualities that set him apart, rather than straying from his style in pursuit of more lucrative hip-hop opportunities. Despite some of these projects flying under the radar for most of the broader hip-hop scene, he established a very solid niche for himself, enabling him to showcase his lyrical skills and offer fans some truly delightful music in the process. This illustrates the importance of achieving a balance between restraint and fundamental principles.
