Chance The Rapper – Quiet Storm

Chance The Rapper Quiet Storm

Chance the Rapper is continuing his path towards a return to the music scene. The Big Day’s decline was a significant drop, but enthusiasts have been intrigued and keen to know if the previously popular artist can regain his momentum. He has released a number of buzz singles in the past year. This new one, “Quiet Storm,” has been just as good or even better as the rest. The new single maintains a subtle and thoughtfully composed tone reminiscent of Chance the Rapper’s earlier work. There is a political undertone present in this particular situation.

“Quiet Storm” employs a subtle bait and switch tactic. The initial radio voiceover and opening titles create a misleading impression that the song is romantic, but in reality, it deals with themes of unrest. Chance the Rapper critiques the current state of the world and highlights its numerous shortcomings. The release of the song on Donald Trump’s inauguration day seems intentional, as the rapper felt compelled to share it at that particular moment. He spits rhymes about “missiles with signatures from Satan on them.” He warns those listening of an impending “Quiet Storm”. In this context, Chance the Rapper is not drawing inspiration from the R&B style known as the same name but rather reinterpreting the phrase “calm before the storm” to fit his own perspective on life. It would be great if we could release an album in the near future.
