Sjava has been recognized as the most streamed South African rapper on Spotify for 2024.
In response to this achievement, Sjava shared a detailed message reflecting on his journey after the streaming service unveiled the top five South African artists, where he stood out as the sole representative from the hip-hop genre, alongside amapiano artists Kabza De Small, Kelvin Momo, DJ Maphorisa, and Mellow & Sleazy.
Supporters of the “Umcebo” hitmaker took to social media to extend their congratulations for this remarkable accomplishment.
On X (formerly Twitter), Sjava elaborated on the dedication that led to his success. He stated, “I spend sleepless nights perfecting my craft; some may mock me, saying I am stressed as I walk and talk to myself, but I am actually writing. If you desire similar results, invest in your writing, for ultimately, it is about the message you convey. The question will always be, ‘What are you saying?’ Drake holds the number one spot globally because we can all understand his message.”
He also expressed his gratitude to those who value his artistry. “I thank everyone who appreciates my writing and music; I will continue to honor you by delivering quality music. Thank you.”
Sjava acknowledged his producer, Emtee’s record label, and the African Trap movement, stating, “@Ruff, thank you for your exceptional production, guidance, and for ensuring I sound my best during those sleepless nights. I appreciate you.”
